K2: Former EUROPE Guitarist's EUROVISION Performance To Be Webcast
February 19, 2005K2, the new band led by former EUROPE guitarist Kee Marcello, has collaborated with Canadian singer Alannah Myles (of "Black Velvet" fame) on a song called "We Got It All", which is scheduled to compete in the Swedish leg of the Eurovision Song Contest. "We Got It All" was written by Kee, Zal and Michael Blair and will be performed live on February 26 in the semifinal round of the competition, to be broadcast on Swedish television.
"Kee, [drummer] Snowy [Shaw, DREAM EVIL, ex-KING DIAMOND, MERCYFUL FATE, MEMENTO MORI, NOTRE DAME] and [bassist] Ken [ex-TRANSPORT LEAGUE] will team up with Alannah in Skellefteå February 23 to start the rehearsals and the preparing of their performance at the Melodifestivalen," reads a posting on Kee's web site. "This will actually be the very first time they meet, since Alannah's vocals were recorded in Canada (by RUSH producer Terry Brown). The backgrounds were cut by Kee & Zal (Kee's longtime colleague and also one of the co-writers of the song) at Kee's GEM Studios, Gothenburg. As soon as a cue mix was available it was uploaded to an FTP site for Terry Brown to download in Toronto and put into his recording system. After finishing the recording session with Alannah, the same procedure was made with the sound files of her vocals, and Kee could easily download them in Gothenburg. Hail the Internet! The song was mixed by renowned producer/musician/madman Charlie Storm in his studio, Cloudchamber, and mastered by Dragan Tanaskovic at Bohus Recording."
Fans will be able to hear "We Got It All" for the first time on the official Melodifestivalen web site on Saturday, February 26 beginning at 2:00 p.m. (CET). K2's TV performance will be broadcast live on the Internet via SVT.se. The show is scheduled to start at 8:00 p.m. on February 26.
